GAFilk Policies
Covid Policy
Our policy for COVID-19 mitigation is:
- We highly recommend attendees have all vaccinations and boosters to which they are entitled.
- Masks will be required in official GAFilk convention space, with the following exceptions:
- when actively eating or drinking in the con suite or during the banquet,
- dealers actively eating or drinking behind their dealer table in the dealer room, and
- when performing on stage, provided all other performers sharing the stage are in agreement.
Singing is a high-risk activity for COVID-19 transmission. Masking mitigates that risk, but does not eliminate it. We assume no liability for the inherent risks of contracting COVID-19. You assume this risk by entering the hotel.
If your mask breaks or needs replacement, registration will have additional N95 masks for your use.
Pet Policy
- GAFilk has historically been in hotels that do not allow pets. As such, this policy is new and may evolve quickly.
- Quiet, well-behaved pets are welcome in the main floor function space, with the following caveats:
- Pets must be under control of their owner at all times.
- If a pet is noisy, the owner should remove the pet from the performance space.
- If a member is allergic, the owner should maintain distance to accommodate the allergy.
- Pets are not allowed at the banquet.
- We do not consider trained service dogs to be pets. They are not subject to this policy.
- The hotel has their own policies regarding pets; those policies supersede these.
Recording Policy
- "Recording" includes all forms of audio capture, video capture, and photography.
- At GAFilk, permission for attended recording and photography is implied unless the person performing requests otherwise.
- If a person announces, “Please don’t record me” or anything to that effect, immediate compliance with their wishes is expected (up to and including deletion of any material you may have already recorded of them.)
- There is no unattended recording allowed in any space at any time.
Violation of this policy is considered "harassing photography or recording" under the GAFilk Harassment Policy and will be handled accordingly.
Grateful thanks to OVFF for inspiring this policy.
